Antique Rat - or Squirrel - Wind Up Toy with Velveteen Fur (Non working)

This is a very old rat wind up toy with velveteen fur. I suppose it could have been a squirrel and the fluffy tail has disappeared. It has definitely seen better days, but that adds to its allure. I love his little wire tail and if left in a dimly lit corner, I am sure it would startle someone! The little guy will bounce a little when you giggle him, but the wind up mechanism definitely needs some repair.

Approximately 6.5” long and 3” tall when sitting up.
The label on the bottom reads ‘Made in Japan.’
