Did the Victorians have Roller Derbys? Who knows, but this piece is an adorable version of a possibility. It was originally a toothpick/matchstick holder.
It would be so cute to repurpose for Q-tips, or an eye pencil holder. Or even a tiny bud vase for a small succulent.
It looks like a skate boot made by Degenhart, however embossed on bottom: Bottle Made in France
Chip missing from the underside of one of the wheels (see pictures)
Approximately 4” tall, 3” long, and 1.5” wide.
The edges appear to be opalescent because prior to 1960,milk glass was made with silica which made the edges glow orange. This is referred to as the ring of fire. This piece is most likely from the 1940's.
