Stunningly beautiful, hand crafted, cut to clear ruby red glass, decorated with exquisitely elaborated etched designs, featuring a castle landscape on one side and a stag on the other, among characteristic baroque and rococo patterns. This is the highest quality Czech art glass and could be used as a vase or a goblet.
I believe is an older Egermann. 1930s if not earlier.
No chips or cracks.
The base still bears what I think is the pontil mark and is solid glass. The walls are 1/8” thick.
Approximately 6” tall and 3.5” wide.
Please see my other listings for more beautiful pieces.
Dating back to the early 1800's, Egermann Company specializes in hand decorated glass with each piece posing a decorative and highly art oriented character. Egermann's main claim to fame is its invention in 1832 of a process called "red staining" in where the dark ruby red coloring on each piece's surface is decorated by baroque patterns using cutting and engraving processes. Egermann is the world's premier manufacturer of the "red staining" process.
