Beautifully Embossed Wilkens Post Prohibition Bottle, circa 1936

Post Prohibition bottle with Harry E. Wilken Sr’s face embossed on the front. He is flanked by an image of a distillery on the left and possibly the family home on the right. On each side of the bottle are shocks of rye or wheat.

Stamped at top: Federal law forbids sale or reuse of this bottle
Stamped around the lower edge is: Harry E. Wilken Jr, Harry E. Wilken Sr, William T. Wilson
Stamped on bottom: D230, W T inside an inverted triangle symbol, 12-6, M-845-B. The symbol is that of the Whitall Tatum Company. The ‘6’ denotes this bottle is from 1936.

Note: ‘Federal Law Forbids Sale or Reuse of This Bottle’ was required on all liquor bottles sold within the United States that were made between 1935 and 1964.)

Approximately 6.5” tall and 3.25” wide. No chips or cracks, bottle is in excellent condition for its age.
