This is a 1800s W & B Co cast iron pan No. 9 (or is it a 6?). Made by Wood Bishop Co. Bangor, Maine. The cast iron roll or gem pan also known as a “New England Style” French Roll pan or Gem has 12 horizontal semi-cylindrical slots. The 2 handles have drilled holes for hanging.
This is a very nice, large, rare, antique (late 1800s) Wood Bishop & Company Bangor, ME cast iron French roll/cornbread/gem pan in good condition. The Wood Bishop & Company located in Bangor, Maine was in business from the mid 1800s to early 1900s. They primarily made wood stoves, but also made cookware to go along with the stoves. These pans were also sometimes used as a mold to make bar soap. This pan has been cleaned, seasoned, and is ready for use.
Most items in my shop are vintage and are not brand new and come from estate sales. The items may show minor age-related wear and/or minor flaws consistent with the date of manufacture (please be sure to check photos carefully as they are part of the description).
