1910s Tin Vienna Art Plate - Phantasie #106 - Shonk Co. Royal Saxony Plate

This 10 ⅛” tin plate is in great condition considering it is over 100 Years old! There is some fading of the paint around her face and a small dent over her shoulder (it is more noticeable on the back side). The design is worn in places around the edges (please see pictures).

Interestingly enough, this design was also used as an advertising plate for Dr. Pepper (same design, but with Dr. Pepper advertising centered at the bottom of the plate).

Charles W. Shonk Co - Royal Saxony Plates” “The Shonk Co. began business in 1891 and produced tin plates with a red Royal Saxony logo on the backs. ….It is unknown when Shonk began and ceased production plates; however it is generally believed Shonk plates date to the later 1910-1915 time frame.…The Shonk-Royal Saxony logos were always red in color and lightly stamped onto the lower rounded corner of the bottom and underside of the border. ….Thy Shonk-Royal Saxony plates are 10-⅛” diameter and have a convex shape (curved outward) border.” (http://www.tinviennaartplates.com/menu/)
