This is a gorgeous small pitcher or creamer with a black/bronze colored base over which has been applied the green drip glaze. A classic piece made in the mid century mod style. The rounded shape and pronounced lip suggest that this piece is a creamer, but it could also be used as a charming bud vase or a watering can.
On the bottom is embossed BMP, Canada
Piece is approximately 4.25” tall, 4” wide, and 4.75” long with handle.
No chips or cracks, but there is crazing on the piece.
Produced in the 1960s-1970s
Blue Mountain Pottery “became well known for its trademarked "reflowing" or drip glazing technique that mimicked Blue Mountain's colors during the summer. After hand-applying one lighter and one darker glaze on a piece, the colors ran together during the firing process and resulted in mixed-hue streaks. The company is best known for using this glaze to make deep green, almost emerald pieces.” https://www.worthpoint.com/dictionary/p/ceramics/na--canada/blue-mountain-pottery
