This is a beautiful iridescent souvenir vase made by Oscar Schaller and Co. The hand painted scene depicts a stag in the woods and the church in the distant background. Around the edge of the picture are gold flowers and vines. I think the words about the picture translate to ‘Greetings from Heubach/Odu.’ The top, bottom, and handle are also painted gold.
The mark on the bottom features a church and ‘Hallerstein Bavaria.’ c. 1917-1950
Approximately 7 ⅝” tall and 2.5” wide including the handle.
“An interesting fact is that the company also manufactured some souvenir pieces for the town of Hallerstein, which at that time had a constant flow of tourists visiting their church in Zell-Hallerstein which was based on a chapel built in 1420. Today, pieces marked with 'Hallerstein' are much sought after pieces for collectors of Schaller or Winterling items.” http://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/germany/bavaria/schwarzenbach-01/index.php
